North Carolina native and Raleigh nonprofit pro Lindsey Blankenhorn brings years of leadership experience to our team, formerly the director of operations at Mission Increase where she consulted with dozens of area organizations on their mission and growth. As a Meredith College graduate and champion for women, Lindsey is excited to move Carroll’s Kitchen into our next phase of growth as we run and operate two locations and pursue a commissary kitchen space. Lindsey and her family live in downtown Raleigh where they enjoy discovering new restaurants and exploring the City of Oaks.
Ryan Piper, Chef
Chef Ryan Piper’s number one ingredient is passion, and you’ll taste it in every bite on our menu. Ryan made his way from Manchester, New Hampshire to train at the award winning Highgrove Estate in Fuquay Varina where he quickly rose to the top. When Ryan isn’t developing new recipes for Carroll’s Kitchen or teaching culinary skills to our job training team, he enjoys exploring new foods and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Sara Acosta, Communications Director
Sara’s AmeriCorps and nonprofit experience landed her in downtown Raleigh where she served a local homelessness advocacy organization for three year before joining the team at Carroll’s Kitchen. When she’s not taking pictures of food at Carroll’s Kitchen or downing a cup of chicken velvet, she and her husband, a fellow Campbell University alum, run the food blog eatRaleigh and chase dinosaurs with their young son.
Nina Sigarto, General Manager
Nina’s leadership at Carroll’s Kitchen is decades in the making. Her restaurant career launched at a popular pizza joint in Hollywood, Florida, owned then by Carroll’s Kitchen co-founder Vicky Ismail. Nina eventually took over the restaurant where it remained a community staple, partly due to Nina’s ability to quote nearly any movie or song. Nina recently relocated to downtown Raleigh where she manages Carroll’s Kitchen and enjoys cruising on her motorcycle and spoiling her dog, Jackson.
